A manifesto for power?
‘Put the climate crisis back on your agenda’ the Labour leader is told

SIR Keir Starmer was urged to put the climate crisis back on the party’s agenda as he swung into town on a flesh-pressing exercise this week.
The Labour leader joined the party’s Queen’s Park and Maida Vale candidate Georgia Gould while out canvassing at the Harlesden Town Garden on Saturday.
In an exclusive interview with Extra, Sir Keir said he hoped his party’s manifesto would “put Labour back in power so we can deliver on things that I know matter so much to people”.
And he spoke about the party’s plans to beef up employment rights and effectively do away with zero-hours contracts.
But Gill Archer, an organiser at the garden project, said: “The number one issue is the climate. Instead, we have politicians saying they will get the economy going and raise productivity, and the environment comes across as an afterthought. To me, this is the most important issue we face today, and so many other issues stem from it.
“For example, those who are worried about immigration should know that it is caused by the climate crisis; it is affecting other parts of the world right now much more than us.”
It comes as residents in the Cities of London and Westminster constituency told the Local Democracy Reporting Service about their concerns that the Labour Party was no longer representing the working class.
