MIKEL Arteta will be looking for a response from his players against West Ham on Sunday after Arsenal dropped two precious Premier League points last time out.

The Gunners dominated the opening 45 minutes against Liverpool at the weekend and quickly found themselves two goals to the good thanks to efforts from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.

But in the end the league leaders were lucky to escape Anfield with a 2-2 draw as the home side missed a penalty, while Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale also made a string of outstanding saves.

Ahead of another challenging away day, this time at the London Stadium, Arteta said: “The lesson is ‘stick to what we’ve done in the first half against Liverpool’. Play with our personalities – if we do that, we’ll win a lot of games.

“We’ve been responding for 31 games now. Every single day is a test and the test is: how good are we going to be [in training], and how well are we going to prepare to beat West Ham and to play the way we want to?”

Meanwhile, Arsenal say they are “very disappointed” after police moved their home fixture against Chelsea from April 29 to May 2.

“This change has been made as a result of the Metropolitan Police revising its position on policing the match,” the club said on their official website.

“After working to try to find a solution with the Met Police, we are very disappointed with the impact and disruption this fixture change will cause to our supporters, particularly after this match had been initially approved for a Saturday evening kick-off.”
