A BARRISTER has been jailed after detectives discovered he was buying drugs from clients he was representing.

Henry Hendron from Old Compton Street, Soho, was arrested after police went through messages on a dealer’s phone.

They said they found him trying to get hooked-up for crystal meth.

The high-profile lawyer had represented the man in a criminal case. A further investigation found Mr Hendron had bought drugs off another of his clients, the Metropolitan Police Service said.

He was sentenced to 14 months after pleading guilty to three counts of “encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence” and one count of possessing a class A drug.

The BBC reported that Mr Hendron’s life had been turned upside down after his partner was found dead in his flat in Soho in 2016.

He had represented clients including the politician Nadine Dorries.

Detective Inspector Lewis Sanderson said: “Actions like his can tarnish the reputation of all those involved in the criminal justice system.”
