• I AND fellow residents of George Peabody Court, Burne Street , NW1, in the borough of Westminster, have been trying to no avail to persuade the owners of the alleyway that runs between Burne Street and the Marylebone Road to clean up the mess.

The smell of urine can be overpowering. This is a popular route for a variety of people including school children, residents and the general public.

One resident told me she has seen rats among the rubbish. Other residents complain of men and women using the alleyway as a toilet.

The alleyway is on BT land and they have a building, Burne House, next to it. Where the rubbish is located is a fire escape and I believe this could impede people from using the fire escape in an emergency.

We have had the most marvellous support from our ward councillors but still BT are doing nothing. See https://youtu.be/fiJyfBkUNWM
