SUPERCAR owners have been banned from performing showboating tricks and making unnecessary noise at night in a new High Court ruling.

The injunction against anti social drivers specifically prohibits stunts including “doughnuts” and revving engines between 6pm and 7am in “known hotspots”. Anyone breaching the injunction in Knightsbridge, Belgravia, St James’s, Hyde Park and the West End faces large fines or seizure of assets.

It is part of a crackdown on supercar owners by the city council that has included widening the use of PSPOs, public space protection orders, and the Metropolitan Police (below) issuing orders.

Deputy council leader and cabinet member for enforcement Cllr Caroline Sargent said: “Anti-social driving is incredibly dangerous, and we do not want it in Westminster. This ruling is a fantastic result for the council and its partners which will make our streets safer while offering residents respite from the excessive noise.”

The night-time meets have been raised at council meetings by the former leader of the council, Belgravia ward Cllr Rachael Robathan.

In December 2025, a Saudi-registered Rolls-Royce worth almost £250,000 was removed from Grosvenor Square as part of the crackdown.

There had been complaints about supercars being parked around the site of the former US Embassy.

It is hard for the council and Transport for London to enforce payment of fines on foreign-registered cars from outside the Europe.

In August 2024 more than 60 “supercars” worth an estimated £6million were seized in central London in one week, the police said.

Cars including a McLaren, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari and Lamborghini were taken away, mostly due to a lack of insurance.

The action came after Westminster residents complained about anti-social drivers hitting high speeds and treating the area like a “race track”.
