Elizabeth’s garden is on track…
Two-acre space will be a lasting tribute to our longest-reigning monarch, says Royal Parks

THE new Queen Elizabeth II garden in The Regent’s Park is nearing completion and is on track to open to the public at the end of the month.
The Royal Parks said the two-acre garden will be a lasting tribute to the extraordinary life and service of our longest-reigning monarch, a space for reflection, biodiversity, and to connect with the natural world.
Key features include a promenade over the pond, a wildflower meadow and flower garden with species of personal significance to the late queen (1926-2022), including lily of the valley – which featured in her 1953 coronation bouquet – and the Narcissus ‘Diamond Jubilee”.
Myrtle, rosemary, oak and Maackia amurensis all carry royal or personal associations, the parks authority said.
A water tower basement stores rainwater collected from the garden and adjacent roofs, for irrigation.
