Film censors have to take things seriously

• REFERRING to the historian AJP Taylor, and his “murder” in a Monty Python sketch (Revealed: How film censors failed to see the funny side of Monty Python’s gore, March 23), censors had to consider a person who was alive.
AJPT taking it as a jape is irrelevant. The British Board of Film Classification later had to take seriously threats to kill Salman Rushdie in the video International Guerillas (1989) even though he trivialised the threat.
