PROFESSIONAL protester Steve Bray is developing into a bit of a national institution with his eternal barracking of politicians – mainly the Tories.

It comes with the territory then that he should be standing outside the conference centre in Birmingham this week in his anti-Brexit hat and with a loud speaker, daring the police to move him on.

It was, of course, quite a scene to see guests in the smart marquees have to try and share their thoughts at fringe meetings over the sound of the Benny Hill theme on rotation.

Much hilarity, for sure, as they competed with the relentless, zany sax.

But you guys remember the Benny Hill Show, right?

Let me plan grandmaster woke this week and suggest Mr Bray could think of a better soundtrack, and not one taking us back to a creepy “comic” chasing women in their briefs around a park.
