JEREMY Vine, I guess, should be applauded for his constant vigilance on the roads as he pedals around exposing drivers cutting up cyclists and so on.

He is perhaps the most high profile of the headcam guys never too far away from identifying somebody else’s violation, a clip of which will be speedily uploaded to the web. Harrington has no doubt Mr Vine does this to make people aware of London’s road dangers.

Some of his copycats, however, have surely noticed how viral clips of traffic contraventions and, more importantly, the angry reactions that follow can get enough traction to make a penny or two on social media.
