Dan Carrier gets into Downing Street

HE may be a dear friend but Harrington cannot recommend enough tuning into the historian Dan Carrier’s growing film channel on YouTube.

“Untold London” brings to life his book about the capital’s past, and nobody can tell a story quite like Dan.

He’s a writer and broadcaster who makes history accessible and really brings it to life.

This week I dined happily on his short history of Downing Street and learnt that the famous door had a period of being green, rather than the traditional black we see each day on the news.

It’s one of a feast of anecdotes.
