Harrington: The fields seem more fun than the streets

Quaker and Vida were said to have made a remarkable recovery
THE images of runaway Household Cavalry horses bolting through London in April were both striking and saddening – particularly the sight of Vida, the white horse soaked in red blood.
Call it PR in the face of a brewing debate over whether the horses should have been put to work in London in the first place, but the Ministry of Defence’s footage of them recovered in fields somewhere had a warm feel. Vida is there having a snuggle. Still, the plan to get them back in the job for Trooping The Colour seems a bit much.
