The scene at the giraffe house on Saturday
GIRAFFES deserve a bit more respect – always a figure of fun in the children’s books, someone invented a loaf in the pattern of their print and somehow named it “tiger bread”.
And while there seems to be a million different monkeys at London Zoo, it’s the animals in the big shed with the big windows which really make you stop and marvel at their other-worldly majesty.
Harrington can’t be the only visitor to the attraction in Regent’s Park to think the same, even if bigger crowds flock around the gorillas and penguins.
Spotted on a visit to the zoo on Saturday to offer moral support to Extra reporter Tom Foot as he tackled his fear of spiders who could not smile at the happy couple who decided to spend their special day helping to feed the long-necked beasts?
A crowd grew on the other side of the rail looking at the unusual trio: bride, groom, giraffe.
There seemed not a care in the world for whether the sparkling white dress might get a little smudged on the gravelly terrain. The couple were too far away to ask who they were but they certainly looked smitten.
And not just with the giraffe.
