Harrington: The Oscar for staying in print
Extra’s sister paper scoops awards
Friday, 14th March

A HAPPY week in our newsroom with Regional Press Awards gongs for our sister paper the Camden New Journal and assistant editor Franklie Lister-Fell.
These are the industry “Oscars” but it’s an industry, as you might have gathered, which is a little short on cash.
Our paper, for example, simply covers its costs to be here with no intention or capacity to turn a profit. That’s why we were not at Quaglino’s to accept the trophies this week.
At nearly £500 a seat, we could not justify the spending when the cash could be spent bringing you the news.
