• BROWSING around a charity shop, I came across a tie priced at £100 (I kid you not) securely placed in an ornate glass case.

I returned there yesterday and it was still there, same place, same price.

I now realise that the old chestnut about two silkworms in a race and it finishing in a tie, isn’t strictly true. Actually they end up in a mausoleum in a Camden Town charity shop.
