Help! There are nasty individuals near my front door
Thursday, 19th October 2017
• WE are told to ring 999 to report a crime that is happening now and we are in danger.
Ring 101 for “less important” crimes. What ever “less important” means. We can also report nuisance/anti-social behaviour to Camden Council.
And 999: they answer straight away but are very busy, they ask questions and you don’t know if they listen to your answers.
A robot-like voice goes: “We are very busy do not panic”. Well, I do panic, I’m scared, there are nasty individuals near my front door. Incidentally I too am busy! So forget 999, they are too busy to send someone. They do give you a crime number though, a real treat.
Try to ring 101. Non Urgent Bureau. They take their time to answer. And the call is not free. They take note of your address and, again, you feel you’re disturbing them.
Now, you can report nuisance/anti-social behaviour to Camden Council. They are also very busy. They’ll pass on your comments/email to so and so. I wish I could afford a private vigilante brigade.
