A VILLAGE in Hyde Park Estate is celebrating its history by launching a series of entertainment events next week marking its 150th anniversary.

Connaught Village is hosting a string of festivities over summer, kicking off next Thursday with history walks, cheese-tasting and live performances.

Actors in prosthetic make-up from the London College of Fashion will give guided tours of the village, bringing the history of the estate to life with dance and music.

Designer boutiques, art galleries and restaurants will be open for business as usual with a chance to meet the experts. Rhuaridh Buchanan, founder of Buchanans Cheesemonger, will be giving “vertical cheese tasting”, sampling models from different years and demonstrating the ageing process.
