ARSENAL will go into Saturday’s north London derby at Tottenham brimming with confidence after thrashing Juventus in the Champions League.

The Gunners showcased their attacking threat in Turin on Tuesday, with Frida Maanum, Stina Blackstenius, Mariona Caldentey, and Caitlin Foord all scoring in a 4-0 win.

Interim boss Renee Slegers hasn’t publicly stated that she wants the job full-time, but the players are doing her talking on the pitch. Since Jonas Eidevall’s resignation last month, Arsenal are unbeaten in five.

Sharing the praise around after the big win in Italy, Slegers said: “The players up top are performing really well, but I don’t want to take out the goalkeeper, our back four, and our two sixes as well. We sometimes forget to highlight [them] because the players up top are scoring the goals, but I think the goalkeepers and the back four have been doing really well.”
