NORTH Middlesex slipped to fourth on Saturday after being frustrated by Shepherd’s Bush.

Opting to start at the crease, North Midd put in a solid showing with the bat at their Park Road ground, with no fewer than nine players getting into double figures.

Evan Flowers again top-scored with 52 runs off 64 balls as North Midd scored 231 before losing their final wicket in the 63rd over.

It looked like a testing enough total to earn all 10 points, especially after Hugh Teesdale and Uzair Amjaid took early wickets to leave Shepherd’s Bush struggling on 36-2.

But somehow the visitors survived until the end of play as they finished their 70-over innings on 110-9. North Midd earn five points for the draw, giving Richmond and Teddington the chance to overtake them in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League.

Elsewhere, captain Callum Jackson’s mighty knock of 114 wasn’t enough to stop Hampstead slipping to a three-wicket defeat away to Teddington. Hampstead were bowled out for 208 in the 64th over – a total the home side did well to eclipse as they hit 209-7.
