A THIEF who snatched a woman’s handbag that contained a Fabergé egg worth £2million has been jailed after being tracked down in Northern Ireland.
Enzo Conticello, also known as Hakim Boudjenoune, 29, was sentenced to two years and three months at Southwark Crown Court yesterday, Thursday.
He pleaded guilty to theft and fraud by false representation after the grab outside a pub in Bateman Street, Soho, on November 7 2024.
The Russian jewel-encrusted green and gold egg – one of just a few dozen in existence – is still missing.
Detective Arben Morina said: “The defendant never explained to the police what he did with the expensive jewellery. Our investigation to find the egg and the watch is ongoing and we’d urge anyone with information to contact us.”
The 10cm egg was being taken home by the woman after being on display at an event.
Her bank cards and a rose gold watch were also stolen.
Anyone with information about the Fabergé egg and watch is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 01/10
