TENS of thousands of musical theatre fans flocked to the West End Live extravaganza at the weekend.
A total of 27 shows currently running or about to open in the West End performed snippets on a stage erected in Trafalgar Square on Saturday and Sunday.
Shows including Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera wowed the fans.
Upcoming shows including Heathers, Six and Knights of the Rose also gave a taste of what’s to come.
Council leader Nickie Aiken, who chairs the West End Partnership said: “West End Live really is unmissable and the weekend was everything we hoped it would be and more. Thank you to all those who put on such an outstanding show, but also those who filled Trafalgar Square and created such a vibrant atmosphere. There is no better taster for all the West End has to offer… world-class theatre, but also superb restaurants, great retail and a very lively cultural scene.”
This was the event’s 14th year.
