• WESTMINSTER’s roads are getting worse by the year!
According to recently published statistics, several categories of road user casualties have increased.
Westminster is already the most dangerous borough in Greater London for road tragedies.
Of the total casualties, some 1,776 last year, 13 people died, seven more than in 2015.
In recent years this is the highest figure since 2008 when a dozen pedestrians perished.
The number of child pedestrians injured shot up to 48, which is 15 more than in the previous year. This is the most since 2004 when some 56 children were injured.
Most disturbing of all, there were 399 motorcycling casualties, a vast increase upon the 365 of the previous year.
This is the largest figure since 2006, when 402 motorcyclists were involved in crashes.
