The London Clinic’s action is shameful
Thursday, 16th November 2017
• THE London Clinic spokesman claims that it is a “charity” so has to be “careful how it spends its money” (Nurses forced out of homes by Christmas, November 9).
Ye gods, does he not understand what “charity” means? How about being concerned about our fellows and helping them?
It is not charitable to threaten nurses with court action if they fail to leave their homes. And the deadline is within days of Christmas. This action is unbecoming a so-called charity. They can allow the nurses more time to find alternative places to rent (say six months).
It is a pity the grateful patient who gave Vernon House to the hospital did not make legally binding conditions to protect medical staff tenancies. The whole thing is shameful and needs rethinking – now!
