Jubilant Labour Party members after gaining control of Westminster
• THE newly-elected Westminster Labour council is listening and acting.
The closure of candy shops on Oxford Street selling counterfeit goods and failing to pay business rates is the kind of “hands-on” activity taxpayers expect, (‘We must stop proliferation of US-style candy stores’, June 17).
There is a free public meeting with the councillors, organised by Hyper (Hyde Park Estate Residents) on June 27 at St John’s Church Hall Hyde Park Crescent W2 2QD.
Come and discuss a range of issues from dumping to parking, housing to the cost of living, 6.30pm for 7pm start
