Theresa May
• THE electorate are going to be asked again to vote for the Conservative party – and for Theresa May on June 8.
If you listened to the parliamentary debate, as I did, you would have thought, as I did almost to the very end, Mrs May was asking the voters to strengthen her mandate for Brexit.
No such thing! Poor Mrs May! Are we naive enough to believe that she needed a stronger vote and support for Brexit?
On another TV channel, Boris Johnson, her foreign secretary, was appealing in a previous session of parliament his assertion that parliament’s permission would not be required (as is the case of David Cameron) for the UK to join in the intervention of Syria if the USA asked us.
Remember when the war lady herself, Tory PM Margaret Thatcher, escaped the trials and tribulations of a downtrodden United Kingdom in the 1980s, by donning a military wardrobe and riding on a tank as she took Britain into the Falklands War. With this she earnt herself a second term in office I believe.
When the Labour Party knock on my door to canvass my vote I shall implore them to wave a white flag in the Commons debating chamber when parliament reconvenes.
Mrs May can downgrade Jeremy Corbyn all she likes. I don’t believe he will be one to fire a bullet and kill Syrians.
When are we going to impeach our leaders (Tony Blair included) for “unlawful aggression on a sovereign state”, “abuse of the Queen’s Arms”, and “warmongering”?
