The Marble Arch Mound

• I WAS puzzled as to how tall your correspondent Ruth Yang is, (Forget the critics, keep the mound, October 15).

The glowing review of the Marble Arch Mound promoted a new, unseen, landscape while regular-sized adults who visit the mound can only see building construction workers, rooftop air conditioners, and much stationary traffic.

The Shard and London Eye do charge, as did the mound until it became an international laughing stock and a member of Westminster City Council resigned because of it.

The Millennium Dome was a white elephant until private enterprise turned it into a music venue. However, Primrose Hill offers a fabulous view of London (free) as does the rooftop garden of the “Walkie Talkie” building in Lombard Street (free).

Given that the Shard charges between £25 and £49 entry how much would Ruth Yang pay to revisit the mound? The taxpayers need to recover £6million.
