What about councillors’ hours worked?
Friday, 6th May

The rate for the job?
• THE minimum wage for a worker aged over 23 is set at £9.50 an hour.
If you divide £15,000 by 52 weeks a councillor on these expenses (plus a smartphone) should work just over 30 hours a week.
Someone on £12,000 should work 24 hours a week.
How many of the councillors who have been canvassing for our votes in the local elections will work these hours?
