Why does Labour say it’s anti-Semitic to condemn the actions of the state of Israel?
Thursday, 7th December 2023
• WITH the breaking of the truce/ceasefire in Gaza, I write to express my shock at the ongoing refusal of the Labour Party to condemn the war and the joint actions of the state of Israel and Hamas.
I have never understood why condemning the actions of the state of Israel means that you are practising anti-Semitism.
The fact that a large number of people in Israel are Jewish, just as a large number are of other religions, does not justify this accusation.
The state of Israel and Hamas are both to be condemned for their killing (whatever their religious beliefs) and, by now, the deaths resulting from the action of the state of Israel far exceed those of Hamas.
The psychological damage also being done to children and adults is also unmeasurable.
Historically Northern Ireland still has the highest rate of suicides in the UK, due to the “Troubles”.
Why does the Labour Party say it is anti-Semitic to condemn the actions of the state of Israel?
I implore all in the party to come out firmly against the propagators of this carnage and crimes against humanity.
I shall never vote Labour again (I have only not voted Labour once in my 80 years) if you continue with this policy.
