HS2? Nothing to see there…

• HAVING previously ordered trains with only one door per carriage, High Speed 2 is now facing an extra bill of tens of millions of pounds to change this to two doors.

In order to claw back some of this money – our money incidentally – I therefore suggest that due to the extensive use of tunnels and viaducts these carriages also remain windowless as out of the 45-minute journey time from Birmingham to London only nine intermittent minutes would have afforded passengers a view of the world outside.
