ENGLAND will walk out on hallowed turf on Saturday when they face Northern Ireland in the first competitive match for the national team at the new Wembley Stadium.

That tie is followed on Tuesday by an away clash with Latvia, with both World Cup qualifiers live on ITV.

Arsenal forward and Barclays FA Women’s Super League player of the month, Beth Mead, is in Sarina Wiegman’s squad.

As are fellow Gunners Nikita Parris, Leah Williamson and Lotte Wubben-Moy. All four arrived in camp fresh from Arsenal’s comprehensive 4-0 win over German outfit Hoffenheim in the Champions League group stage.

Emma Hayes’ Chelsea also got back to winning ways in Europe last week, beating former Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro and his new Juventus team 2-1 in Turin. Tickets were free at the Juventus Stadium and 16,761 fans turned out, setting a Champions League record for Italy.

“It was one of the most beautiful nights of my career and I’ll never forget it,” said Montemurro.

Arsenal are set for a big night in north London in December, with the visit of Spanish giants Barcelona now switched to the Emirates Stadium.

And head coach Jonas Eidevall, who has just picked up the Barclays manager of the month award for Arsenal’s flying start to the season, is already calling on Gooners to be his team’s “12th player”.

In a video posted on the club’s Twitter account, he declared: “Let’s fill up the Emirates, let’s be loud, let’s believe together and create a magical night!”

Tickets are now on sale at, and it may not be too late to watch England at Wembley this Saturday either. For more information visit
