STAR striker Saffron Jones was the toast of Camden Town WFC at their end-of-season awards ceremony.
After scoring 16 goals in just 23 games last season there was perhaps little surprise that the talented 18-year-old picked up both the golden boot award and the Young Player of the Year award at the celebration, which was held at the club’s home ground, the Maurice Rebak Stadium in Finchley, recently.

Town chairman Richard Mahoney said: “We have been so impressed with Saffron’s development. She came to our attention when we noticed just how many goals she was scoring in the Capital Girl’s Youth League and we made our move for her. She made the step up to senior-level football seamlessly.”
Camden captain Josie Shand was also among the big winners, taking home the Player of the Year award, while Jordyn Galway was voted Supporters’ Player of the Year by the fans.
Other honours went to Maxine Borden, who won the Players’ Player of the Year award, and Rebecca Smith, who picked up the Progression award.
