Clockwise from top left: Puccini, Mozart, Bizet and Handel
Staging opera isn’t easy, and most companies who do it take a well-earned break from their efforts during the second part of the summer.
But Hampstead Garden Opera are at least keeping their hand in with “Around the World with HGO” – a summer concert that involves no staging but just four singers, a piano, and a programme of familiar arias by Puccini, Handel, Mozart, Bizet and their like.
In the vocal line-up is at least one rising star, the tenor Nick Pritchard.
And it plays at an unusual time, perhaps to catch the end-of-day summer sun: 6.30pm, Saturday August 3, at St Michael’s Church, South Grove, Highgate N6 6BJ. Tickets from £15, https://hgo.org.uk/
