Review: Timpson: The Musical, at King’s Head Theatre

Timpsons

WHO was aware that Timpson the high street shoe repairs chain had such a passionate and turbulent genesis?

Writers Sam Cochrane and Chris Baker have delved in the swamp of history and come up with this anarchic, rumbustious and totally bonkers musical.

Star-crossed lovers Monty Montashoe (Madeleine Gray) and Keeleigh Keypulet (Sabrina Messer) fall madly in love – Marx brothers-style.

Mayhem erupts; I particularly like the screaming mad banshee who launches herself onto the stage whenever the plot thickens too much (which is often). Full of infectious fun and puns, you’d be a soulless heel not to enjoy this.
