THERE was plenty of cause for cheer on Saturday when talented young footballers from Pro Touch SA showcased their skills in South London.
The club’s newly formed Under-7s and Under-8s squads more than held their own at the Junior Premier League’s Football Festival event, which was held at Long Lane FC.
And despite missing out on the silverware, the players still couldn’t hide their excitement as they made their way back home having taken part in their first ever tournament.
“The most important thing was to give the players the chance to experience tournament football,” said Pro Touch founder Ash Rahman.
“Sure it’s nice when you can win medals and trophies, but for now these players have achieved something even bigger – and that’s the next step in their football development.”
