Kentish Town Under-11s continued their unbeaten run with a 5-0 victory

THERE were goals aplenty on Saturday as two teams from Kentish Town FC picked up impressive wins in the Regent’s Park Youth League.

The club’s Under-8s set the tone for the day as they progressed in the League Cup in an entertaining contest against Regent’s Park Rebels.

Mason O’Leary opened the scoring for Town with a tidy finish before Arthur Souster-Murphy slotted home to double their advantage.

Regent’s Park reduced the deficit just before half-time, but Oscar-Che Harris scored early in the second half to swing the game back in Town’s favour.

Ellis Gallagher-Burke then scored what was arguably the goal of the match, hitting a 20-yard free-kick into the top corner to put the tie beyond doubt as Town went on to seal a 4-2 victory.

The celebrations didn’t stop there – with Town’s Under-11s, who are playing up an age group, sparking plenty of cheer as they continued their unbeaten run in the Under-12s 7-a-side division. They beat second-place Jolof Sports FC 5-0 in “a great game of football” to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Thomas O’Keefe opened the scoring in style as he found the top corner from a fantastic free-kick on the edge of the penalty box.

Albert Shirley then danced around three defenders before slotting home Town’s second, before Karter Davis and Arthur Brand added their names to the scoresheet.

O’Keefe capped a man-of-the-match display with his second of the game as Town continued their unbeaten league run – winning seven and drawing one of their eight games so far.

“We played some of our best football so far this season,” said Kentish Town coach Thomas Looney. “Our Under-11s have yet to lose this season in both the Under-11s and the Under-12s divisions, putting in some impressive performances for everyone to see.”
