ARSENAL shot-stopper Manuela Zinsberger hopes to give Austria fans more to cheer about tonight (Thursday) as they face Germany at Brentford in a must-win Euro 2022 quarter-final.

Austria overcame 11th-in-the-world Norway to reach the knockouts and will be the underdogs once more against world No 5 Germany.

But Gunner Zinsberger, who could be joined by clubmate Laura Wienroither in the starting XI, knows her team are already winners.

“I’m feeling joy, pride, so many mixed emotions. [It’s] unbelievable what my team has achieved,” she said.

“It’s definitely going to be a tough game,” she added. “They have improved, we have improved, so we just hope we are going to see an incredible football game – the better team are going to win!”

Six more Gunners could be in quarter-final action this week, with Beth Mead, Nikita Parris, Leah Williamson and Lotte Wubben-Moy in the England squad who were preparing to do battle with Spain as we went to press.

Tomorrow, Stina Blackstenius’ Sweden face Belgium, while on Saturday Vivianne Miedema’s Netherlands will battle it out with France.

All matches are live on the BBC.
